LSU was without two defensive tackles Saturday against New Mexico State.
Neither Quentin Thomas nor Frank Herron dressed for the Tigers' final non-conference game of the season. Thomas suffered a left arm injury last week against Mississippi State. Herron suffered an undisclosed injury during practice this week.
Les Miles said earlier this week that Thomas would be out at least a week with the injury. Miles mentioned on Wednesday that that a redshirt freshman defensive tackle had gone down during practice, but he didn't specify which one. LSU has not given an indication on how much time Herron will miss.
True freshman Davon Godchaux made his second career start in place of Thomas. Sophomore Lewis Neal moved up the depth chart as well.
