Fresh off a 200-yard performance in a victory Thursday night, four-star running back Nicholas Brossette will head up to Notre Dame for an official visit this weekend.
The LSU commit and his older brother will leave for the airport at 4 a.m. Friday morning for a two-day trip to South Bend. Brossette will be on campus for Notre Dame’s game against North Carolina and stay until Sunday afternoon.
The only other time Brossette’s been to the Midwest was for a camp in Chicago this past summer. This will be his first time visiting Notre Dame.
“I don’t know what they have in store for me, but we can’t wait,” Brossette said. “We haven’t had a trip like that in a while…I’m very excited. It’s something new that I can see. They play North Carolina, so it should be a good game. I just know it’s cold right now, so I’ll have to bundle up.”
Brossette said his lead recruiter, running backs coach Tony Alford, messages him almost every day, and that played a large part in him deciding to use his first official visit on the Irish.
“I love their tradition, and the way they run the ball,” Brossette said. “And it’s a good atmosphere. I just can’t wait.”
Brossette has been committed to LSU since August 2013. He has been adamant though he wants to take his visits to ensure he explores all options before making a final decision.
He hasn’t yet set up any other visits, but he said he’ll definitely take officials to Texas and LSU.
“All of my visits are going to be important just to see what else is out there,” Brossette said.
