The SEC handed out weekly awards to a pair of LSU Tigers on Monday.
Leonard Fournette was tabbed the co-Freshman of the Week and Vadal Alexander the Offensive Lineman of the Week.
Fournette made his first career start in the 30-27 victory against Florida. He had a breakout performance for the Tigers, rushing for a career-high 140 yards on 27 carries.
He also had two touchdowns and his 140 yards were the most by a LSU freshman since Justin Vincent in the 2003 SEC Championship Game.
Fournette currently ranks No. 3 in the conference, averaging 136.9 all-purpose yards per game. He has 504 yards rushing and six touchdowns total this season.
Fournette had plenty of room to run through thanks to Alexander and the LSU offensive line.
Alexander, a third-year starting guard, led the Tigers with 11 knockdowns against the Gators. The four LSU running backs ran for a combined 209 yards against a Florida team that entered the game No. 4 in the SEC in run defense.
Fournette and Alexander are the second and third LSU players to receive weekly honors this season from the conference. Brandon Harris was named SEC Freshman of the Week after his performance against New Mexico State last month.
