Four-star Jacob Evans commits to Cincinnati

St. Michael (Baton Rouge) four-star wing Jacob Evans committed to Cincinnati Tuesday morning, becoming the Bearcats' third pledge in the 2015 class.

Jacob Evans is officially a Bearcat.

The four-star wing from St. Michael the Archangel in Baton Rouge confirmed his commitment to TSD Tuesday morning. Evans, who narrowed his list to two on Friday, chose Cincinnati over South Carolina. He was previously also considering Auburn, LSU and Tulane.

"I was extremely pleased with the coaching staff and current players at Cincinnati," Evans relayed via text message. "I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the program and like that I'll have the opportunity to compete for playing time as a freshman.

"I want to thank my mom and high school coach (Drew Hart) for helping guide me through this process."

Evans put up robust numbers as a junior, averaging 17.5 points, 7.2 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 3.5 steals. His stock went soaring this summer after huge efforts at the Pangos All-American Camp and Fab 48 tournament in Las Vegas.

He becomes the third commitment in the 2015 class for Cincinnati and head coach Mick Cronin, joining three-stars Tre Scott from Darien, Ga., and Justin Jenifer from Bel Air, Md.
