Vols commit Dylan Jackson set for LSU visit

LSU will attempt to address a major position of need this weekend when the Tigers host Tennessee defensive end commit Dylan Jackson on an official visit

Defensive end is still a major position of need for LSU in the 2015 class. The Tigers will get an opportunity to address that this weekend by hosting Dylan Jackson on an official visit.

LSU has made a big push for the Tennessee commit for the last couple months, extending him an offer on Aug. 5. This trip has been in the works for a while now, and TSD confirmed Friday the visit is set to happen.

Jackson has been committed to Tennessee since January. His hometown of Maryville, Tenn., is less than 20 miles from Knoxville, and he intends to enroll early with the Vols. That will make him an extremely difficult flip for the Tigers, but they'll get an opportunity to make their pitch this weekend.

John Chavis, the former Tennessee defensive coordinator, has led the recruitment of Jackson, and he's been assisted by a member of the LSU recruiting staff who's close to Jackson and his family. Those efforts have at least given LSU a foot in the door, and this weekend will be the next step in landing this three-star defensive end.
