Alabama’s Amari Cooper will certainly be the most talented wide receiver LSU has faced when he and the rest of the Crimson Tide come to Tiger Stadium on Nov. 8.
Cooper has placed himself squarely in the Heisman discussion with 1,132 receiving yards through eight games. He also has nine touchdowns, and he’s failed to total more than 90 yards in only one game this season.
In fact, he’s surpassed the 130-yard receiving mark six times in 2014.
While the LSU defense has been solid against the pass, Cooper poses an entirely different challenge. CB Jalen Collins opened up on his impressions of Cooper.
“He’s a great receiver,” Collins said. “Watching film, I see some similar traits to Odell [Beckham]. He’s fast in and out of his breaks, great acceleration, great hands. We definitely have our work cut out for us this week.”
So how do you stop him?
“Definitely staying patient, using my hands as best I can,” Collins said. “I know he’s going to use his body and speed to get away from me and gain separation."
