LSU at No. 17 in CFP selection committee poll

LSU ranks No. 17 int the CFP selection committee poll, dropping only one spot after the loss to Alabama

The CFP Selection Committee didn't punish LSU much for the loss to Alabama over the weekend.

The Tigers dropped only one spot to No. 17 after suffering their third defeat of the season. Those Crimson Tide didn't receive any benefit with the win, remaining at No. 5 in the poll, outside the hypothetical playoff picture for the moment.

LSU is one of seven teams from the SEC in the Top 25, according to the committee. The six ahead of the Tigers are all ranked in the Top 15, including all three teams that have beaten LSU this season — No. 1 Mississippi State, No. 5 Alabama and No. 9 Auburn.

LSU is 2-3 against teams in the CFP Top 25 with wins against No. 10 Ole Miss and No. 20 Wisconsin. The Tigers may have a chance to add to that record later this month with No. 24 Texas A&M left on the schedule.
