LSU handed out a new offer to an in-state prospect Monday night in Pine standout Derrick Dillon.
The Tigers are recruiting Dillon as an athlete. Dillon has been committed to Florida since May.
The coaching change in Gainesville though has made Dillon a bit more open in his pledge. LSU has maintained a relationship with Dillon, hosting him for multiple unofficial visits this season.
Brick Haley, who recruits Pine for the Tigers, was scheduled to speak with Dillon Monday night.
LSU had previously only discussed Dillon playing defensive back. But the Tigers started to grow more open in recent months to him playing offense, and that's why they're now labeling him as an athlete.
Dillon has stated he would prefer to play offense and the Gators did take him as a wide receiver. He is ranked as such by Scout as a four-star prospect, No. 23 nationally at his position and No. 177 overall. He is the eighth best player in the state.
