OT George Brown sets official visit to LSU

Florida OT commit George Brown has set an official visit to LSU for the weekend of Dec. 5

The weekend of Dec. 5 is shaping up to be a big one for LSU.

Florida commit George Brown (Cincinnati, Ohio) added his name to the visitor list Tuesday by scheduling an official to come that weekend. Brown has emerged as a hotter target for the Tigers, especially with the coaching change coming in Gainesville.

Brown has been pledged to the Gators since July but is now more open to other suitors. He took an official visit to Mississippi State this past weekend, and has now set his second visit with LSU.

LSU first started recruiting Brown heavily this past spring. At the time, he mentioned wanting to visit LSU, but the trip never materialized. Cousins with former Tiger running back Spencer Ware, Brown does have legitimate interest in LSU. He said he speaks with LSU offensive line coach Jeff Grimes "almost everyday."

"I'm being recruited by Coach (Jeff) Grimes, and he seems like a great guy," Brown said in an interview with Scout's Bill Greene. "They are telling me that they are excited to get me down there. They said they need offensive tackles, and there's an opportunity for me to play early there. I've never been there yet, but I wanted to visit before I committed to Florida."

Brown is just one of several Florida recruits the Tigers have improved their chances with since Will Muschamp's resignation was made public. The Tigers also extended an offer Monday to Derrick Dillon, an in-state four-star committed to the Gators since May.

The list of visitors for that Dec. 5 weekend should be major. Brown is just the latest addition with other top prospects like Adonis Thomas, Garrett Taylor, Martez Ivey and Jalen Merrick expected to visit then as well.
