He released his top five Friday morning via Twitter.
Top five ?? Texas Tech???? Georgia ???? LSU???? Oklahoma st???? Auburn ??— Tyron Johnson (@_TBJ13) December 5, 2014
LSU is joined by Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, Auburn and Georgia.
Johnson made multiple visits to Baton Rouge during the season, giving the Tigers confidence they can keep one of the state's best close to home. Though the passing game's struggles this year are certainly a concern, LSU feels that the strength of its relationship with Johnson and his family should help alleviate those issues. Johnson was originally scheduled to take an official visit to LSU this weekend, but he pushed that back to January.
Texas Tech was the only other school he visited this spring. The Red Raiders recently sent eight coaches to his school to check on one of their top prospects. Tech is considered LSU's biggest threat for Johnson's commitment.
Johnson has said he would announce that commitment during the Under-Armour game next month. But Johnson and his Warren Easton team are still alive in the playoffs, which has prevented him from taking too many visits elsewhere. He may delay that decision to allow more time to check out his other top schools.
