Daylon Charlot decommits from Alabama

Daylon Charlot informed the LSU coaching staff during his official visit this past weekend that he's decommitting from Alabama

Four-star wide receiver Daylon Charlot is no longer committed to Alabama, according to a source close to the LSU coaching staff.

Charlot informed the Tigers during his official visit this past weekend that he planned to drop his commitment. The Patterson native had been committed to Alabama since February, but things started to get interesting once the Tigers offered this summer.

LSU had made a serious charge to keep one of the state's top receivers close to home. Charlot made multiple visits to Baton Rouge for games this fall and followed those up with an official visit this weekend.

Before departing Sunday, Charlot informed Les Miles that he planned to officially reopen his recruitment during a one-on-one meeting.

Charlot said in an interview with Nola.com that he may wait until National Signing Day to announce a final decision. He's said in the past he may make it during the Under-Armour All-American Game next month.
