Ole Miss commit Leo Lewis to visit LSU

Four-star linebacker Leo Lewis remains committed to Ole Miss, but he plans to take an official visit to LSU on Jan. 16

LSU continues to press hard for linebackers, and Ole Miss commit Leo Lewis is on their radar.

The Tigers have sent multiple coaches to see Lewis during the last couple weeks and most recently hosted him for an unofficial visit during a home game this fall. Now LSU's set to host him for an official visit next month.

Lewis said during check in at the Mississippi/Alabama All-Star game that he'll take that visit the weekend of Jan. 16.

“I like LSU a lot," Lewis said. "I like the coaching staff and the atmosphere. Coach Brick Haley, he always produces defensive linemen, so in a scheme where I can just run and make tackles, that really stands out to me.”

Lewis has been committed to Ole Miss since September. It's his second commitment after pledging to Alabama earlier in his recruitment. He plans to follow his official visit to LSU with one to Ole Miss the following weekend, and may take an official to Mississippi State the weekend of Jan. 30.

Lewis did say though that he's "pretty firm" in his commitment to the Rebels.

“I wouldn’t say they should be [worried],” Lewis said. “LSU and State’s coming on pretty hard and recruiting me, but I’m still committed and pretty firm...They just tell me do what I need to do. At the end of the day, make the best decision for me. That’s what I like about them, they’re supportive.”
