Michigan reaches out to Les Miles' agent

Michigan reached out to the agent of LSU coach Les Miles on Tuesday night, according to Scout's Sam Webb with GoBlueWolverine.com

Michigan reached out to Les Miles' agent on Tuesday night to gauge his interest in the Wolverines' vacant head coaching position, according to Scout's GoBlueWolverine.com.

There are no further details regarding that conversation or whether Miles has any interest in the job.

The LSU coach has had his name connected to the opening since Michigan fired Brady Hoke last month. But Miles has publicly refuted any interest in returning to his alma mater. As recently as Sunday he said he'd had no contact with Michigan about the opening, declining to speak any further on the topic.

On Nov. 24, Miles said he was "comfortable" staying at LSU.

"I have given little or no thought to any other jobs," Miles said last month. "I am so comfortable with my team and doing what I'm doing...I certainly respect and love Michigan and wish them the very best."

This certainly wouldn't be the first go-around between Miles and Michigan. He's been linked to Michigan during both of the school's most recent coaching searches in 2007 and 2010. Reports four years ago indicated that Michigan had offered him the job, but he declined, opting to stay at LSU.

Whether or not anything has changed this time remains to be seen, but based on the reports coming out of Ann Arbor, the Wolverines have at least opened the discussions with Miles to try and find out.
