Kyle Phillips 'excited' for new LSU commit
Defensive end Kyle Phillips will announce his commitment on Saturday during the U.S. Army All-American Bowl. Amadi has said that he and Phillips plan to attend the same college. The two Nashville natives took multiple visits together to Baton Rouge during the spring and summer and have made it known LSU was a real possibility for both.
Phillips met with reporters Tuesday after Army Bowl practice. Though he wouldn't confirm that he too is heading to LSU, he was happy for Amadi.
"He just committed during practice, so I haven't talked to him," Phillips said. "I was excited for him. He's a great player, and I know LSU is lucky to have him. So I am excited for him."
Phillips' Twitter account was a bit more purple and gold though.
Phillips isn't the only Nashville-based recruit high on LSU's board. The Tigers are equally high on junior college quarterback Justin Martin, a former teammate of Amadi, and 2016 safety JoeJuan Williams. The latter was in attendance for Amadi's ceremony on Tuesday, and both could find their way to Baton Rouge as well.
Both Martin and Williams tweeted out their congratulations to LSU's newest commit.
