Jamal Pettigrew commits to LSU

The Tigers picked up a big commitment Sunday morning in 2016 four-star tight end Jamal Pettigrew.

LSU landed its fifth commitment in the Class of 2016 Sunday morning - and second of the week - when St. Augustine 2016 four-star tight end Jamal Pettigrew gave his pledge to the Tigers' staff.

Pettigrew (6-5, 225) is rated as Scout's sixth-best tight end in the country and the No. 107 overall player in his class. He's long been on LSU's radar, making an impression at team camp this summer.

His commitment comes three days after Ponchatoula offensive guard Donavaughn Campbell pledged to the Tigers.

Pettigrew is a cousin of current Detroit Lions tight end Brandon Pettigrew, a former first-round pick in the 2009 NFL Draft.
