Hornsby on A&M loss: "I think we got lazy"

After a brutal home loss for the Tigers, junior guard Keith Hornsby explained that LSU played out of character – and not up to standard – down the stretch.

LSU (13-4, 2-2) coughed up a game to Texas A&M (11-5, 2-2) on Saturday that the Tigers led for nearly the duration, ultimately falling 67-64 in the PMAC.

Following the game, one in which the Aggies finished on a 20-6 run, junior guard Keith Hornsby was almost at a loss for words.

"We really didn't buckle down on defense, the closing, the last 10 minutes in time when it really mattered," Hornsby told reporters. "The other team got rebounds that we really needed, and we didn't capitalize offensively when we really needed to. The final score shows that."

Asked a follow-up question along the same lines, Hornsby put the team's problem on Saturday even more bluntly.

"I think we got lazy," he leveled. "We saw the lead and we started relaxing a little on defense. That's not like us. It really isn't. I don't know what that was about."

Check out the video below for more from Hornsby, who managed just five points, three rebounds and three assists (but did add three blocks and two steals) in the disappointing loss for LSU.
