Adrian Magee helps recruit Derrick Dillon

LSU commit Adrian Magee is a quiet giant.

But this weekend while on his official visit, the Franklinton big man couldn't help but get in the ear of a fellow recruit. Derrick Dillon, from nearby Pine, was on the receiving end of some recruiting pitches from Magee as he hopes the current Florida commit eventually joins him in LSU's class.

“I spent a lot of time with him," Magee said. "I know him really well. I asked him if he’s coming and he said, ‘Only me and Jesus know.’ So I said ‘Alright. We’ll see.’”

Whether Dillon flips remains an uncertainty, but Magee's commitment is definitely a sure thing. He's never wavered since joining LSU's class in April.

He was hosted by K.J. Malone during his official visit this past weekend and looks forward to joining the rest of the offensive linemen on campus in a few months.

“Some of the players told me how it’s going to be," Magee said. "We were just hanging out with the guys, getting to know them better...KJ Malone, I spent most of my time with him. We all get along pretty good. They like me, and I think they’re all cool. We’ll have a close relationship once I get down there.”

Magee projects as a guard on the next level. LSU coaches told him this weekend he can play on either the left side or the right.

He currently measures 6-foot-4, 360 pounds and LSU wants him closer to 330 by the time he enrolls. That's Magee's main objective between now and June with National Signing Day only a couple weeks away.

“I’m looking forward to it," Magee said. "I’m happy, just have to work harder. I’m just trying to get better in the weight room and make my grades. I want to have as much fun as I can before I get there.”
