Joe Anderson is not an official LSU commit as of Monday night, but he could be soon
Sources on the LSU staff gave confirmation Monday night that Anderson had committed to the Tigers. Anderson is waiting to go public with his decision, though according to our sources, he'll commit to LSU.
Regardless of how it plays out, Anderson will have to go to junior college first.
Anderson will be a "sign-and-place" prospect for LSU. He will spend his first two seasons at a junior college with an opportunity to rejoin the Tigers after completing his necessary coursework at a JUCO. It would be a similar situation to Jeremy Cutrer, who's set to enroll this summer after originally pledging to LSU in the 2013 class.
Anderson ranks as a three-star prospect, the No. 59 defensive end in the country and No. 3 at his position in Louisiana. He'd received interest from other schools like Ole Miss and Mississippi State, but academics made his recruitment dicey.
If all goes according to plan though, Anderson does plan to suit up for LSU after a period at JUCO.
