LSU offers Virginia Tech OL commit

A new offensive lineman emerged on LSU's board Tuesday when Mike Arnold reported an offer from the Tigers

LSU extended a new offer Tuesday to three-star offensive tackle Mike Arnold, according to Scout's Corey Bender.

Les Miles spoke to Arnold on the phone Tuesday, which is when he handed out the offer. Miles is set to meet with Arnold in-person on Thursday.

Arnold's been committed to Virginia Tech since September, and he's considered the top offensive lineman in the Hokies' class. LSU's hoping to make a late push and flip Arnold with a big need still at offensive tackle.

Arnold said he's unsure if he'll take a visit to LSU this weekend, which would be necessary for the Tigers' chances. It's expected that Miles will work to lock in that visit during his meeting Thursday.

Toby Weathersby is currently LSU's top target at offensive tackle after visiting this past weekend. The Tigers are battling Arkansas for his commitment. Now with Arnold in the picture, it appears LSU's working to add more tackles to its class. LSU only has George Brown committed with Maea Teuhema and Adrian Magee projecting to play guard.

We'll continue to monitor how things progress between LSU and Arnold. In the meantime, you can head to the TSD Message Board at the link below to discuss the latest.
