VIDEO: Fun, hoops with sophomore duo

There's a little bit of everything in TSD's videos with Jarell Martin and Tim Quarterman. Martin talks about the team's "7-0" mentality going into Saturday's game while Quarterman discusses "good spurts" from the Tigers and makes an unexpected appearance.

On the court LSU (18-7, 7-5) is all business these days, coming down the home stretch of a conference schedule that's become vitally important to the Tigers.

Sophomore forward Jarell Martin, the team's second leading scorer and rebounder, addressed the urgency it'll take for the Bayou Bengals to reach their postseason aspirations.

"We definitely know how important it is to close out games and we definitely want to make the tournament. So before we went into the Tennessee game, it was like we needed to go 7-0," Martin said of the remaining league contests prior to Saturday's win in Knoxville. "We went into that game with the right approach."

Teammate Tim Quarterman, a fellow member of the Class of 2013, shared his two cents as well on LSU's recent play, which now includes convincing wins over Alabama and Tennessee and a close loss to No. 1 Kentucky.

"I think we've had some good spurts the last couple of games with the team," explained Quarterman. "We're sharing the ball a lot lately and that's been helping us out. We've been getting a lot of stops and playing defense too. So I think we've been having some good spurts."

Off the floor, as you'll see at the 45-second mark of the first video below, things are markedly looser for the Tigers.

Pretty funny stuff from Quarterman, who is always light-hearted, but in retrospect Martin more or less keeping it together and giving real answers before Quarterman is caught is maybe more impressive.

Anyway, give it a watch for yourself and enjoy. They do also (mostly) talk basketball, including thoughts on Tuesday night's pivotal game at Texas A&M and much more.
