Jordan Mickey will play Friday versus Auburn

After missing the Arkansas game Saturday, it appears sophomore All-SEC forward Jordan Mickey will be back for LSU's SEC Tournament opener Friday, versus Auburn in the quarterfinals.

NASHVILLE - Sophomore forward Jordan Mickey will return to action for LSU Friday afternoon when the Tigers take on Auburn in the SEC Tournament quarterfinals, per head coach Johnny Jones.

Jones, meeting with reporters Thursday afternoon after scouting the Auburn-Texas A&M game, said Mickey's bruised shoulder is healed to the point where he'll be in the lineup.

"Absolutely," Jones responded when asked if Mickey would be available. "Jordan's been able to practice with us the last two days. We don't know what level he'll be able to play, but he'll certainly be on the floor for us tomorrow."

Mickey, recently named to the All-SEC First Team by the league's coaches, missed the team's win at No. 18 Arkansas Saturday after taking a nasty fall in the second half of the Tigers' home loss to Tennessee March 4.

The Dallas native is averaging 16.0 points, 9.9 rebounds and 3.7 blocks per game. He is the nation's leader in blocked shots.

LSU will play Auburn, with whom the Bayou Bengals split this season, around 2:30 p.m. Friday inside Bridgestone Arena.
