LSU will play NC State in Pittsburgh

The LSU Tigers are crashing the Big Dance. Johnny Jones' crew will meet North Carolina State and former Tiger Ralston Turner on Thursday in Pittsburgh in the East Region.

NASHVILLE – The Selection Committee has made its picks, and brackets are solidified for the 2015 NCAA Tournament.

For the first time in six years LSU (22-10, 11-7) will be a part of March Madness, a nine-seed in the East Region, where the Tigers will square off against North Carolina State (20-13, 10-8) and former Tiger Ralston Turner.

The 8/9 game will be contested in Pittsburgh Thursday at 8:20 p.m. Central Time (on TBS), and the winner gets one-seed Villanova.

LSU wrapped up the regular season tied for third in the SEC and lost a quarterfinal game in the conference tournament on Friday.

The Wolfpack, under head coach Mark Gottfried, tied for sixth in the ACC and lost to Duke in the conference tourney after beating Pittsburgh in its opening-round game.
