Baton Rouge native and LSU offensive lineman La'el Collins is meeting with the New Orleans Saints Friday following the program's annual Pro Day.
Collins participated in individual workouts at the LSU indoor practice facility but did not run of lift, content with his efforts at the NFL Scouting Combine.
Afterward, he sat down with reporters.
"I'm actually getting ready to talk to them," Collins said when asked if he's met with the home-state Saints. "For me it's huge, being able to get that team, especially the Saints, a program that's winning and has been very successful with great coaches, just getting the opportunity to sit down with them and talk football is great. I look forward to meeting with them later on today and seeing what they have to say.
Among the Saints personnel in attendance Friday was defensive coordinator Rob Ryan.
The Saints own the No. 13 overall pick in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft.
