VIDEO: What's on tap for Skylar Mays?

Two-time state champion Skylar Mays is in attack mode heading into a busy summer. Watch as the 2016 point guard discusses the latest in his recruitment, playing for a team sponsored by Elfrid Payton and more.

There's never that moment when 2016 three-star point guard Skylar Mays gets complacent.

The 6-foot-3 maestro, who's pulled the strings on two straight 3A state championship teams at University High, is as determined as ever to prove himself heading into the final AAU summer of his high school days.

Mays will suit up for Elfrid Payton Elite on Nike's EYBL circuit, and the Baton Rouge native is excited about the opportunity to soak up knowledge from the Orlando Magic rookie and Louisiana native, who also plays the point.

"Just having a guy like Elfrid Payton, who they say is going to be there to watch us practice and stuff (is big)," Mays told TSD. "Having a pro guard who plays the same position as me who can give me tips, that's a big help."

On the subject of his recruitment, Mays, a former LSU commitment, smiled and said the Tigers are still very much in the running for his services. "They've got a good shot. I mean they're right there on my campus. But every school has got an equal opportunity at this point."

He also detailed some of the newest offers to come his way, including Memphis, SMU and Texas A&M in the last two weeks.

Watch the video below for much more from Mays, including a tip of the cap to his high school teammate Wayde Sims, recently voted Gatorade Boy's Player of the Year in the state and playing for Louisiana Elite this summer on the Under Armour circuit.
