Collins will meet with BRPD after NFL Draft

Per the latest reports former LSU offensive lineman La'el Collins will meet with Baton Rouge police after the 2015 NFL Draft for questioning about a local murdered pregnant woman.

According to the latest reports, which includes a story filed by Ben Wallace of the Baton Rouge Advocate, former LSU offensive lineman La'el Collins will meet with local police regarding the shooting death of a pregnant woman believed to be his former girlfriend, but not until after the 2015 NFL Draft is over.

The victim, 29-year-old Brittney Mills, was shot and killed Friday night at her apartment in Baton Rouge, but police were able to rush Mills, eight months pregnant, to the hospital, where the child was delivered.

BRPD officials have repeatedly said Collins is not a suspect.

It is unknown whether Collins is the father of the child. However, it is being widely speculated that police are tracking down Collins not only to question him about Mills in an effort to identify the killer, but also to administer a paternity test.

Collins entered this week a sure-fire first-round draft pick. Now, many national reporters are revealing that there are franchises which won't consider Collins until this matter is cleared.

The draft begins tonight and runs through Saturday.
