The Five-Star LSU Recruiting Podcast returns this week to provide all the latest news and notes from the LSU Recruiting front.
We kick off the show with an overview of the spring evaluation period, its importance in the recruiting process and what exactly coaches can do when they visit schools. From there we start recapping some of the significant stops the LSU coaches have made through the first couple months of the period.
We start with a look at North Louisiana, where LSU's working hard to erase the disconnect felt with the flagship school of the state. The Tigers had four coaches in Monroe on the first day they hit the road. How much will that pay off and who are the top targets they're after in that part of the state (Hint: one is five-star Rashard Lawrence, who's pictured above).
At about the 10:00 mark, we move on to some other visits made by the LSU coaches, including other stops in the Louisiana, Texas and Florida.
We spend a lot of time on the Sunshine State, where LSU landed a commitment last week from rising sophomore Justin Watkins.
At 19:50, we turn the discussion to the NFL Draft, looking back at LSU's selections and how they rated as recruits. Which ones lived up to their billing out of high school, which ones didn't and which players exceeded all expectations?
Lastly, at 27:30, we preview the impending announcement of four-star CB John Broussard, who will commit to either LSU, Auburn or Mississippi State on Thursday. Which school is the presumed favorite with less than three days until his big day.
All that and much more in the latest episode of the FIVE-STAR LSU RECRUITING podcast, which you can check out by clicking the link below.
