Trio sticking out early for Robert Williams

TSD recently caught up with talented 2016 forward Robert Williams. The North Caddo standout, playing this summer with Houston Hoops, said three schools are at the top for him early in the recruiting process.

The 2016 class in Louisiana is quickly shaping up as one of the state's best, in terms of the number of elite players at the top, in perhaps more than a decade.

One of the players fueling that feeling is North Caddo High School forward Robert Williams.

Williams (6-8, 220) has a versatile inside-out game on the offensive end but excels in the paint on defense, a shot-blocking whiz for such a young player. Playing for Houston Hoops (Williams' dad lives in Houston), Williams leads the Nike EYBL circuit in blocks through three sessions with 4.4 rejections a game and he had 11 blocks in a Mother's Day win Sunday over Elfrid Payton Elite, Louisiana's EYBL representative.

TSD caught up with Williams in Houston this weekend, and the player discussed his move to the EYBL this summer, what he's working on in his game and how the recruiting process is shaping up. After a recent unofficial visit to Texas A&M, Williams is high on the Aggies, as he is Baylor and LSU, two schools that have handed down offers in recent weeks and months.
