That will mark the first visit to Baton Rouge for the nation's No. 1 player at his position. Wilson is a top target of defensive coordinator Kevin Steele and a big name on the board to address a major position of need for the Tigers.
The Montgomery, Ala., prospect has received interest from Coach Steele dating back to his days with the Crimson Tide. Steele has maintained his pursuit of Wilson since joining the LSU coaching staff. He officially offered him in February and has recruited him heavily since.
LSU has offered only one in-state linebacker (Michael Divinity), making it important for the Tigers to strike outside the borders. Another five-star, Keion Joyner, is also a top target for LSU, and LSU would love to have a shot at landing both he and Wilson.
As would be expected for a kid from Montgomery, Auburn and Alabama are considered the two favorites to eventually land his commitment. Wilson recently told Scout's John Garcia that he has no favorites.
"I tell [coaches] that I’m still interested in anybody that has interest in me,” Wilson said in a recent interview. “I take care of what they tell me. And I want to take visits to schools to see where I fit in with these defensive schemes."
LSU will get a chance to show Wilson exactly that while he's on campus May 30.
