The Tigers offered this Maryland-based prospect in April and has piqued his interest since. He plans to check out Baton Rouge for the first time in June before announcing a commitment on the Fourth of July. Diggs tweeted he also hopes to visit Alabama, Tennessee, Miami, Auburn, Virginia Tech and Georgia.
I will be announcing my Commitment on the 4th of July! ?? In June I'll be visiting Alabama, LSU, Tennessee, Miami, auburn, VT and Georgia— Lit•Papi•1? (@TrevonDiggs) May 31, 2015
LSU wide receivers coach Tony Ball has identified some new targets since taking the job in February. While LSU does have a pair of pass catchers already committed in the 2016 class, the Tigers would like at least more, and Diggs is someone they've ramped up interest in over the last couple months.
He'd be a longshot at best though. Alabama has received a lot of buzz with him, as has nearby Maryland since the Terps landed four-star quarterback Dwayne Haskins.
LSU is at least set to get a chance to impress him though.
“I talk to Saivion Smith, he’s a commit there, and he said he loves it and I should take a visit there," Diggs said in an April interview with Scout. “I like LSU. I want to go down there soon. I heard it’s crazy.”
