The three-star prospect from Denham Springs earned an offer from LSU on Monday after a standout performance at the Tigers' camp. He committed on the spot and became the 12th player in the 2016 class to commit to LSU.
Roddy blew up as a prospect this spring, expanding his offer list to more than 30 schools, including most of the programs in the SEC. But there was always one school that stood out most, the one he desperately wanted an offer from.
That came Monday and he wasted no time in announcing his decision.

Roddy is now the third defensive lineman committed to LSU in this class. He joins five-star defensive tackle Ed Alexander and four-star Glen Logan, who committed less than a week before Roddy. The Tigers also have offers out to in-state linemen Rashard Lawrence, Stephon Taylor and Andre Anthony.
Roddy brings a lot of speed to the edge. He could also become as a stand-up outside linebacker if LSU moves to the a 3-4 scheme, but his primary objective will be getting to the quarterback as much as possible.
Roddy also recently landed an invite to The Opening, and he'll participate in the prestigious prospect camp next month in Oregon.
