Alexander attracting plenty of interest

Breaux Bridge junior Galen Alexander is in the midst of a big summer, posting gaudy numbers on the Under Armour circuit and collecting offers from around the country.

The rangy athleticism of 2017 wing Galen Alexander has been on display all summer long during the player's time with Louisiana Elite, part of the Under Armour Association.

Alexander, standing 6-foot-6 and bulked up to 215 pounds, has led the nationally competitive Louisiana Elite 16U squad in scoring (15.1 ppg) and rebounding (8.2 rpg) through three summer sessions.

That's no small feat for the Breaux Bridge standout either, considering his teammates include Josh Anderson of Madison Prep, LSU commit Cedric Russell from Peabody, Carroll's Larry Owens and Romin Williams of Country Day (Metairie).

For his exploits Alexander has seen his recruitment soar since the summer started, adding to in-state offers from LSU, Louisiana-Lafayette and Tulane by picking up more recent overtures from Massachusetts, Oklahoma, USC and Nevada, led by first-year head coach and former LSU assistant Eric Musselman.

He's also hearing from Houston, Murray State, Stanford and Washington.

Recently TSD publisher Ben Love interviewed Alexander on "Bumper to Bumper Sports" on 103.7 FM (KLWB) in Lafayette. Click on the link below to listen to the player's outlook on his big summer, what's in store for Breaux Bridge basketball this season and how he's handling his recruitment.
