Johnny Jones: 'We have a lot to sell'

LSU coach Johnny Jones knows excitement is building around the Tigers' program, fueled by a top-notch signing class and several talented returning players.

The incoming freshman class is causing quite a stir for LSU basketball.

But - according to head coach Johnny Jones - Ben Simmons, Antonio Blakeney and Brandon Sampson aren't the only reason Tiger fans are enthusiastic and anticipating the 2015-16 campaign.

"I'd like to think what the guys have done over the last couple of years - two freshmen that won over 40 basketball games in Jarell Martin and Jordan Mickey - and then with Jalyn Patterson and Tim Quarterman and Keith Hornsby coming back after having success, that brings a lot of excitement to our fan base," explained Jones on an SEC Coaches Teleconference Monday morning.

"We have a lot to sell ... Our fan base has had an opportunity to see the rise of the program, how we've been able to improve each year. Obviously bringing in the No. 1 player in the country (Simmons) lends to that excitement."
