There are LSU recruits and Louisiana prospects all over the rankings. Both of LSU's 2017 commits made the Top 300, as did 11 players from Louisiana, with several more recruits getting three-star ratings. Click the link below for the entire Scout 300.
Here's the list of recruits from Louisiana that have four-star ratings and fall in the initial Scout 300:
No. 1 ATH Dylan Moses (U-High)
No. 61 CB Todd Harris (Plaquemine)
No. 97 OT Adrian Ealy (U-High)
No. 101 DE Chris Allen (Southern Lab)
No. 121 QB Lowell Narcisse (St. James)
No. 135 DT Tyler Shelvin (Northside)
No. 166 ATH Bruce Jordan-Swilling (Brother Martin)
No. 208 CB Devonta Smith (Amite)
No. 248 ATH Al’Dontre Davis (Lutcher)
No. 251 CB Brad Stewart (McDonogh 35)
No. 284 QB Keytaon Thompson (Landry-Walker)
LSU has offered nine of the 11 players above (Al'Dontre Davis and Brad Stewart don't yet have offers from the home-state school). That also includes both of LSU's commits — Dylan Moses and Tyler Shelvin — who both debut in the Top 135.
Moses leads the entire country. He was the first player to ever receive a five-star rating as a freshman, so it figures that he's still the No. 1 overall recruit in the country. He'll be one of only a few rising juniors to compete at The Opening this summer.
The city of Baton Rouge is well represented in these early rankings. The top five players in the state all hail from the BR-area.
Louisiana is once again loaded with defensive backs. Harris, Smith and Stewart all rank among the Top 25 corners in the country. It's also a big year at quarterback, with two in the Top 25 nationally at that position. LSU has offered both, with Narcisse set to announce his commitment later this month.
There are five more recruits in Louisiana that fall outside the Top 300 but have three-star rankings and are on the cusp of making the cut:
QB Connor Curry (Evangel)
CB Tre Swilling (Brother Martin)***
CB Keldrick Carper (Plain Dealing)***
RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire (Catholic)***
CB Jeremy Singleton (Brother Martin)***=Has an LSU offer
LSU has also done well to identify top out-of-state talent. There are a ton of prospects already with offers from the Tigers that fall in the Scout 300:
CB DeAngelo Gibbs (No. 4), WR Trevon Grimes (No. 7), CB Stanford Samuels III (No. 16), OG Tedarrell Slaton (No. 18), DT Marvin Wilson (No. 20), S Jeffrey Okudah (No. 24), WR Donovan Peoples-Jones (No. 25), ATH Jerry Jeudy (No. 26), C Jack Anderson (No. 30), ILB Anthony Hines (No. 32), WR Tee Higgins (No. 37), CB Chevin Calloway (No. 39), RB Cordarrian Richardson (No. 40), S Daniel Wright (No. 42), RB Toneil Carter (No. 43), RB Cam Akers (No. 71), S Isaiah Pryor (No. 74), OLB Jaden Hunter (No. 104), CB Ambry Thomas (No. 116), ILB Will Ignont (No. 128), OLB Deandre Wilder (No. 136), CB Malcolm Askew (No. 141), S Maleik Gray (No. 150), WR Jacoby Stevens (No. 179), CB William Poole (No. 210), ATH Anthony White (No. 222), DT Xach Gill (No. 261), OLB Drew Singleton (No. 263)
