LSU has never won the award given to the nation's best punter. Brad Wing was a semifinalist for the Guy Award in 2011 and 2012 but did not take home the hardware.
Keehn enters his senior season a legitimate contender for the award. The Australian set a school record in 2014 with 3,189 punting yards and his 44.9 yards-per-punt average placed him second in the SEC. It was also the third highest average in school history.
He was named to the All-SEC second team last season with 17 punts of at least 50 yards. 38 percent of his punts were pinned inside the 20-yard line.
Keehn has a 43.4 yards-per-punt average in his career, placing him third all-time at LSU behind Wing and Patrick Fisher.
Keehn is the fifth LSU player to land on a preseason watch list thus far. Here's the complete list:
Hornung Award (Most Versatile Player) - Leonard Fournette
Maxwell Award (Player of the Year) - Leonard Fournette
Rimington Award (Best Center) - Ethan Pocic
Guy Award (Best Punter) - Jamie Keehn
