Miles confident Anthony Jennings will return

Anthony Jennings remains suspended, but Les Miles expects him to rejoin team.

Anthony Jennings remains away from the team while indefinitely suspended.

But LSU coach Les Miles said during a private meeting with reporters at SEC Media Days that he's "confident" the junior quarterback will rejoin the team. He did add that Jennings won't be available until his legal situation is cleared.

Jennings was one of three players arrested last month and charged with unlawful entry of an inhabited dwelling. Jennings, defensive end Maquedius Bain and defensive back Dwayne Thomas were allegedly trying to retrieve items that had previously been stolen from Jennings. Thomas is accused of taking additional items and was thus charged with simple burglary as well.

As is typically with the case with LSU players that run into criminal trouble, Jennings will remain suspended until his legal issues have been resolved.

In the meantime, Miles said Brandon Harris is getting all time with the first-team during player-run offseason practices and workouts.

Jennings and Harris exited the spring still battling to win the starting quarterback job for 2015. Though Miles does expect Jennings to return, Harris could capitalize on his absence and seize control of the starting spot.

Stay tuned for more from LSU's appearance at SEC Media Days.
