Arden Key, Chidi Valentine-Okeke show at LSU

The final two members of LSU's 2015 signing class have reported for fall camp.

Arden Key and Chidi Valentine-Okeke — four-star members of LSU's 2015 signing class — reported for fall camp Wednesday.

They were the final two incoming freshmen to make it to campus after their enrollment was delayed. The NCAA didn't provide either recruit clearance to report when the rest of LSU's signees did in early June.

Transcript issues held up both Key and Valentine-Okeke, but the two recruits had those resolved in time to make it for fall camp.

Both recruits were massive additions to the LSU signing class late in the cycle.

Key, a long-time South Carolina commit, opted to go with LSU a couple days before National Signing Day during a televised announcement. He was the first big get for new defensive line coach Ed Orgeron. Key's expected to compete for playing time at defensive end this season.

"He looks to be in great shape," said LSU coach Les Miles. "He's 240 pounds up from 217. Strong, fast guy that will play a lot of snaps as a true freshman...He’s bigger and stronger than he was. He was skinny before. It’ll be interesting to see if he can do the things we ask him to do at a high level. If he can do that, he’ll play a lot of football."

Valentine-Okeke was a surprise pickup for the Tigers in the week leading up to NSD. LSU was seen as a longshot in his recruitment until an official visit shot the Tigers up his list. Most still expected Valentine-Okeke to land at Auburn, but he too chose LSU during a televised announcement and was one of several major additions to the offensive line for Coach Grimes.

Valentine-Okeke, a native Nigerian, is still relatively new to football and was originally a member of the 2016 recruiting class before reclassifying. He'll likely redshirt in 2015, but many say he has as high a ceiling as anyone else in the class.
