A move so nice he's now pulled it twice.
Rising senior point guard Skylar Mays confirmed to TSD his recommitment to the LSU basketball program and head coach Johnny Jones early Tuesday morning.
Mays, who will finish his decorated high school career at Findlay Prep (Nev.) after winning two straight Class 3A state titles in Louisiana with University High, said the call was a "no-brainer."
"It's kind of crazy because I thought back to how I went about my decision sophomore year versus yesterday," Mays told TSD. "My thought process was so much different. I said in previous interviews that I would pull the trigger early if I was 100% sure and locked in on my commitment.
"My relationship with Coach Jones has grown tremendously since my decommitment. So this time I really thought things through about all of the factors that I felt were important in a school, and LSU is a no-brainer."
The three-star prospect also intends to sign in the early period in November.
After originally committing to the Tigers via Twitter during a home Auburn game in Feb. 2014, Mays decommitted several months later in June, citing a desire to make the right choice and gather "all the necessary info."
He took the U-High Cubs to a second straight state title this past season, averaging 8.1 assists per game, and announced his transfer to Findlay Prep earlier this summer.
Mays will now be reunited at LSU with his former high school teammate, forward Wayde Sims, the Bayou Bengals' only other current commitment in the 2016 class.
