LSU drops in Coaches' Poll after cancellation

LSU held steady in the AP Poll but dropped in the Coaches' Poll after Saturday's canceled game.

LSU only lost to Mother Nature over the weekend, but that was enough to drop in one of the polls.

The Tigers fell two spots to No. 15 in the USA Today/Amway Coaches' Poll. LSU did hold steady at No. 14 in the Associated Press poll.

LSU is one of only two teams ranked in either poll without a win this season. Wisconsin is still No. 24 in the Coaches' Poll despite losing to Alabama, but the Tigers are in a unique situation as the only team from a Power Five conference to have not yet played a game this season.

LSU will get its opportunity — weather permitting — to introduce themselves to poll voters Saturday against Mississippi State.

The Bulldogs received the most votes of any team outside the Top 25 in the Coaches' Poll. MSU is No. 25 according to the AP.

LSU is one of nine SEC schools ranked in the Coaches' Top 25. That's the most schools from one conference to ever appear in the same poll. No. 2 Alabama is the highest ranked among the SEC schools, with No. 7 Auburn and No. 9 Georgia also in the Top 10.
