The wait will continue for four-star running back Devin White.
LSU's top running back target in the 2016 class plans to announce his commitment on National Signing Day, nationally televised on ESPN as part of its day-long coverage. White's one of the nation's Top 75 recruits regardless of position and is a Top Five athlete.
White has a top three that consists of LSU, Alabama and Ole Miss. Those are the three schools guaranteed to get an official visit from him. Arkansas, Auburn and Florida State are also in contention.
The Tigers have long been considered a heavy favorite to land one of Louisiana's top uncommitted recruits. LSU offered him before the summer of his sophomore year, the first school to do so. Most of the programs atop his list followed LSU in offering him early in his recruitment.
The Crimson Tide were the second school to offer him and have done well recruiting North Louisiana in the past.
White's good friends with Ole Miss commit Shea Patterson, the nation's No. 1 quarterback, and that's helping the Rebels' chances.
White has taken several visits to LSU and is the only running back being targeted by the Tigers in this class. Though he has the size to play linebacker at 6-foot-1, 260 pounds, White showed his speed at The Opening this summer by clocking a sub-4.6 second 40-yard dash.
Both tight ends coach Steve Ensminger, who recruits the Shreveport-area, and runnings back coach Frank Wilson are leading White's recruitment to LSU.
Scout's Chad Simmons gives his opinion on which schools have the best chance at landing White in the video below:
