LSU and Syracuse are scheduled for an 11 a.m. CT (noon local) kickoff when the two teams meet Sept. 26 in the Carrier Dome, LSU announced Monday.
The game will be broadcast on either ABC or ESPN.
It'll be the third ever meeting between the two teams. It's also the first leg in a home-and-home series between the two schools. Syracuse will return to Baton Rouge in 2017.
This will give LSU two straight day games after starting the season with an 8:20 p.m. kickoff this past weekend. LSU faces Auburn on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. on CBS in Tiger Stadium.
This will be LSU's earliest kickoff since the Capital One Bowl on New Year's Day 2014, which started at noon in Orlando. It's the earliest start for a regular season game since LSU played Texas A&M at 11 a.m. in College Station in 2012, their first SEC meeting.
LSU has only played six games before noon CT since Les Miles took over the program in 2005. Half of those games were played on the road.
LSU and Syracuse are both undefeated to start the season. The Tigers opened 2015 over the weekend with a 21-19 victory at Mississippi State. Syracuse shut out Rhode Island two weeks ago and beat Wake Forest, 30-17, this past Saturday.
