Watch LSU commit Clifford Chattman's story of surviving Hurricane Katrina featured on the TODAY show

LSU commit Clifford Chattman was only 8 years old when Hurricane Katrina struck New Orleans, but its life-altering effect still has an impact today.

Chattman's story was featured Friday on the TODAY show as part of the "Together We Make Football" series, highlighting the stories behind those that play America's most popular sport.

Chattman and his mother had to evacuate their home when Katrina made landfall. They rode it out on an overpass before taking refuge in the Superdome. The two eventually migrated to Houston, where Chattman began acting out without the presence of football in his life.

TODAY details the story of Chattman's return to New Orleans and the steadying impact football had on him. He's now on his way to the next level as an LSU commit.
