There's 'a chance' LSU S Jalen Mills plays against South Carolina; TE Dillon Gordon practiced this week

Les Miles offered injury updates Wednesday on a pair of players

LSU safety Jalen Mills hasn't dressed for a game this season. Might that change Saturday?

LSU coach Les Miles said the senior dressed out for practice Wednesday, and there's "a chance" he suits up against South Carolina. Though Mills was on the practice field, Miles said he wasn't certain how much he was able to participate.

Mills had to undergo surgery before the season started to repair an injured ankle.

Rickey Jefferson at safety and Dwayne Thomas in the nickel have seen increased playing time in Mills' absence. But his return may not be far away.

"I don’t know exactly how much or where," Miles said, "but there’s probably a chance [Mills plays]."

The return of Dillon Gordon could happen soon as well. The senior tight end injured his Achilles' tendon against Auburn and hasn't dressed for either game since.

Miles said Gordon practiced every day this week.

"We'll see how it goes," Miles said.
