LSU-Auburn kickoff moved up to 6:45 p.m.

Kickoff for the LSU-Auburn football game as been moved up to 6:45 p.m., LSU Athletics Director Skip Bertman announced on Thursday. The game is also changing networks as ESPN will now carry the contest. The contest was originally slated for an 8 p.m. start on ESPN2.

"Being cooperative members of the Southeastern Conference we have been asked to change the game to ESPN from ESPN2," Bertman said. "The game time will be moved up to 6:45 and we think this is a plus because it now lets us start during the daylight and everybody will get home earlier as well."

The gates to Tiger Stadium will now open at 3:45 p.m. and fans are asked to arrive early for the game.

In addition, fans are encouraged not to bring bags, backpacks or any items into the stadium. Should it be necessary to carry such items they will be searched. This will include: backpacks, purses, diaper bags and any other containers or bags. Those who must carry items to the game should anticipate that it will take longer than normal to enter the stadium.
