LSU head coach Les Miles said at his introductory offseason that the team was waiting on one more player for camp. Well, Mr. 105 appears to be on campus and ready to go for fall camp.
A source told Tiger Blitz that Travonte Valentine is on campus for the Tigers' fall camp and will be available to practice.
An LSU spokesperson couldn't confirm Valentine's arrival, which likely means paperwork isn't all finished yet.
Valentine's arrival couldn't come at a better time. The Tigers have been hit with the injury bug it appears along the defensive line with injuries to Christian Lacouture and Isaiah Washington.
At 6-4, 315 pounds, Valentine gives the Tigers have another player at nose tackle that could help right away in Dave Aranda's 3-4 defense in addition to freshmen like Rashard Lawrence, Ed Alexander and Glen Logan. Davon Godchaux, Frank Herron and other shave also played at nose tackle.
Valentine's first round at LSU ended before he even suited up for the Tigers. The former 4-star lineman was dismissed for violating team rules after struggling to become eligible to play. He started at Arizona Western before transferring to Mississippi Gulf Coast.
