Morrisey looking toward Big XII or SEC

Texas has some talented defensive linemen prospects and one of the Lone Star State's best for 2004 is Silsbee's William Morrisey (6-1, 276, 4.9).

Morrisey plays defensive tackle and defensive end but his future is probably inside at tackle when he gets to college.

He has had scholarship offers sitting on the table from Texas A&M, LSU, Arkansas, Ohio State, Oklahoma State, Iowa State and Alabama for a while but he recently picked up another offer.

"I picked up an offer from Tulane three weeks ago but I'm really not interested in them," Morrisey told Tiger Rag. "I like all of the Big 12 and SEC schools right now. I'm keeping everybody in mind but I really like Texas A&M."

While Texas A&M may be the team to beat right now LSU still has a shot at landing the talented defensive lineman.

"I really like coach (Nick) Saban and their defense," said Morrisey. "They play in a lot of good bowl games and they play as a team. I like their coaching staff as a whole. I plan on taking one of my official visits there."

With Morrisey's senior campaign right around the corner he said he plans on going out with a bang. Silsbee finished 1-9 last season and he said that is not the way he wants to end his high school career.

"I'm real excited about this season," Morrisey said. "I want to get to the playoffs and win more games than last year. We were in every game last year but lost a lot of close ones."
