Even though LSU interim coach Ed Orgeron won't let you focus on it, he's potentially inching closer to being named permanent head coach of LSU Football. This week's test against Florida is another chance for Orgeron to prove he's up for the job he so dearly covets.
Reports came out on Tuesday that LSU has contacted representatives of Florida State's Jimbo Fisher, Houston's Tom Herman and other potential coaching options.
If LSU wins out, a Sugar Bowl berth is likely for the Tigers and Orgeron would have been at the helm of it after taking over for Les Miles. The Louisiana native is changing the culture, shortening practices, welcoming back former players, adding jolt to the offense for most of his time as interim coach, and has a 4-1 record in this spot.
Where does that leave "Coach O's" chances? Has there actually been any other options explored? When can this all play out? Tiger Blitz members have been stewing on this since Sunday.
