LSU offensive tackle Chidi Okeke transferring after redshirt freshman season

Former four-star offensive tackle Chidi Okeke announced on Tuesday morning he will transfer from LSU following his redshirt freshman season.

After two seasons in Baton Rouge with limited playing time, former Scout 100 member Chidi Okeke announced on Twitter that he will transfer from LSU.

"Announcement for all my well wishers and coaches, I just got my release from LSU. I'm looking forward to know where I'm going next!," Okeke said in the tweet.

With his release in hand, Okeke will have a chance to find another opportunity to play college football even though he's only played since 2013 after moving to the U.S. from Nigeria.

In the spring, the former U.S. Army All-American earned the Most Improved Award from the staff and was expected to push left tackle K.J. Malone for the starting job this season, but Malone never let that happen. The 6-6, 315-pound offensive tackle played in all 12 games for the Tigers this season.
