Plaquemine safety and Under Armour All-American Todd Harris's official visit to LSU this weekend with his family featured dinner with the LSU staff and other recruits, talking football with the coaches and hanging with player host Ed Paris.
During the weekend, the coaching staff's pitch to the four-star safety was the same.
"I knew that was going to be their push on me. Just staying home and representing the state of Louisiana and being a Louisiana Tiger," Harris told Tiger Blitz. "I've talked with them a lot about that. I've already seen everything. It was all really good though."
Paris talked a little bit with Harris about confidence about as a defensive back wherever he goes.
"Stuff about the game. Just stay confident if I choose to come here and trust the process. That's about it really," Harris said.
As far as feeling the heat to commit, Harris said there was little of that, but rather just getting to know the staff and other recruits better.
"Just bonding with the coaches and getting to know them a little better," the No. 1 safety in Louisiana said. "Just getting to know the other commits better. Not really talking recruiting."
So where does LSU stand as his recruitment comes down the stretch?
"It was eye opening and I'll always have an eye on them," the No. 9 overall safety said. "Just take these next few visits and experience different things and see where I fit in best. That's it really."
Alabama will get an official visit on January 20 and TCU on January 27. The Scout 300 prospect wants to do what he did at LSU this weekend, get to know the coaches there better.
"Just like LSU. Just getting to know the coaches a little better and talk to the players about the coaches. Things like that," Harris said.
Harris plans an announcement on National Signing Day.
