After Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide came through Louisiana, LSU is doing its follow ups on some of the top targets in the state.
Four-star Plaquemine safety Todd Harris was one of two Baton Rouge area recruits that got visits from Saban on Tuesday and LSU is set to follow up with the Under Armour All-American on Wednesday with defensive backs coach Corey Raymond set to visit him. Harris will visit Alabama on an official visit this weekend.
While Raymond is visiting with the No. 9 safety in the country, defensive coordinator Dave Aranda and general manager Austin Thomas are set to visit the No. 1 defensive tackle in Louisiana, Phidarian Mathis, Mathis' mother told Tiger Blitz. Mathis is one of three LSU targets set to visit Alabama this weekend. The fourth, LSU defensive tackle commit Tyler Shelvin, cancelled that visit and shut down his recruitment.
Finally, the LSU staff will check in on four-star linebacker Chris Allen, who hosted Saban as well on Tuesday. The Alabama commitment told Tiger Blitz that he expects the LSU staff to check in on him on Wednesday or Thursday ahead of his official visit to Tuscaloosa.
Keep it locked on Tiger Blitz for the latest on the LSU-Alabama battle for these top prospects in the Boot State.
