A source confirmed to Tiger Blitz that LSU assistant offensive line coach Eric Mateos is headed to Texas State as the Bobcats' offensive line coach.

LSU's interim tight ends coach from this past season, Eric Mateos, is leaving LSU to take the offensive line coach position at Texas State, a source confirmed to Tiger Blitz.

The former Southwest Baptist center and team captain will head take over at his new position next week, The Advocate's Ross Dellenger first reported.

Mateos arrived at LSU this season as an assistant offensive line coach after serving as a graduate assistant at Arkansas the past three seasons. The 27-year old was named interim tight ends coach when Steve Ensminger was named interim offensive coordinator by Ed Orgeron after Les Miles' firing.

At Hutchinson Community College in 2012, Mateos served as offensive line and tight ends coach and as the recruiting coordinator. Mateos' first coaching job came at Southwest Baptist after his playing days finished up.
